Our names are Sam and Mark, and we live in Southampton Hampshire. We first met on 10th November 1997 when working together in Sainsbury's’ ‘Hedge end’. Sam was working on the checkouts and I was a grocery manager. We decided to set up home together and bought our house in Southampton in 1999.
We have both always had animals in the home, either cats, dogs or horses and decided we wanted to continue this, so talked about getting our first pet. Eventually after much arm twisting Sam agreed to my favorite choice of dog! A ‘BOXER’ On June the 16th we tried everywhere to get a copy of ‘dog world’ to get an address or phone number to no avail. So we rang the ‘puppy’line and we were given the number for ‘Stellvana boxers’ Jill and Arnie downing. We up to Derby on the 17th of June to view a potential pup a ‘brindle’ boy but when we arrived Jill and Arnie had a pen in their kitchen diner with the litter in and as we walked in this stunning red and white boy instantly took my eye. I knew SAM would not be able to resist him, he was simply gorgeous
. STELLAVANA LETS GET IT ON
Soon after we felt the time was right to get our boy ‘Tyson’ a friend to keep him company so we looked for a little girl and as we had a ‘red boy’ Sam agreed to let me choose a brindle girl? We traveled to Romford and found our little girl. We called her ‘brunette’ not for her colour but as an adaptation of the name ‘Brunon’ as Sam likes heavy weight boxers. Brunette They got on like a house on fire and we loved them both dearly. After a few months we decided to look for a red and white girl as well and after much consternation and searching for seemed like forever and the constant barrage of questions from breeders," have you had a boxer before?" we eventually found ‘pat heath’ and she put us in touch with a couple who had bred a litter with her bloodlines.

We later decided to have a go at showing and applied for our affix ‘Macwatt’ made up from our surnames Watkins and McGowan. Macwatt Boxers was granted to us on 3rd December 2001.
Since then we started a breeding programme and ‘Pat Heath’ has been able to guide us along the way.
This is how we got started.
